Commission looks into Jankovská’s medication overdose

A Justice Ministry commission has looked into the case of ex-Deputy Justice Minister Monika Jankovská's alleged suicide attempt by medication overdose while in custody, Ministry spokesperson Peter Bubla said on Monday. The commission visited the detention facility in Banská Bystrica where she was in custody on Friday (February 5). The results should be available in a few days. Jankovska is still in the prison hospital in Trenčin. "She was fully aware she was taking too much medication and of the consequences that it could have. I can clearly say that it was an act of despair," her lawyer Peter Erdos stated last week. Monika Jankovská faces charges of bribery and accepting bribes.
