Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Austria have agreed on intensive and regular cooperation within the so-called Slavkov format (S3), Foreign Minister Ivan Korcok (a Freedom and Solidarity/SaS nominee) said following his talks with his Czech and Austrian counterparts, Tomas Petricek and Alexander Schallenberg (respectively) on Thursday. The Slovak minister sees the meaning of this tripartite cooperation in "focusing on specific areas in which we are able to bring added value". "We also want to be active and constructive at the EU level and be viewed by our citizens in this spirit as well," he said.
During the videoconference, the ministers stated that the crisis we have found ourselves in is much more than ever appealing to understanding and joining forces. In this context, they emphasised their readiness to engage in dialogue, including within the enhanced S3 + format, with other partners inside and outside the EU.
