Slovak and Czech Army Special Forces will co-operate more closely, Slovak Defence Minister Martin Glvač and his Czech counterpart Martin Stropnicky announced on Thursday after a joint Czech-Slovak government session in the border town of Skalica, where they signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
The co-operation will take place between the Slovak 5th Special Forces Regiment and Special Forces of the Czech army. “The co-operation between the two elite units in training and military exercises will definitely benefit both parties,” said Glvač. The units will, for example, hold joint exercises that should allow for exchanges of experience and an increase in the capacity of each unit, with future training taking place in both countries.
