The United Kingdom has remained a close partner and ally for Slovakia even after its exit from the EU, said Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Minister Ivan Korčok. "Slovakia within an extremely short time frame reviewed and approved its position in order to open a way to express the implementation of a new, fair and balanced deal on the arrangement of relations between the European Union and United Kingdom," said Korčok. According to him, Britain has left the EU, but not Europe or the area of its values. The Minister stressed that Slovakia and Britain share many contact points and attitudes and that it is not possible to delete this myriad of personal, business and historic ties. "Quite the contrary, Slovakia is ready to build on these firm foundations both in the development of bilateral partnership for the benefit of Slovak and British people, and in the tackling of global challenges," added Korčok.
