A Slovak company has developed a solution for the care of the elderly. The system can remotely monitor them and alert their relatives in case of an unusual situation or behavior. "It collects information about a person's behavior through sensors and, in the event of a deviation from what is normal, alerts a family member," says MONSE product manager Vladimír Palečka.
The system consists of wireless sensors installed in each room. The information obtained from the sensors is processed in the central control unit and is sent to an information processing center, which uses special algorithms or artificial intelligence to evaluate the situation. If it detects a deviation from the normal state of affairs, such as a long stay in the bathroom or not leaving home for several days, the system will notify the family member or an authorized person.
