President signs law on extending State of Emergency

President Zuzana Čaputová signed into law a constitutional bill approved by Parliament earlier on Monday allowing the Government to extend the state of emergency repeatedly by 40 days. Each extension of the state of emergency will need approval by Parliament within 20 days of it coming into force. The constitutional bill also allows the Government to impose curfews on the public. Apart from this, the Government will also be allowed to assign work duty to members of the public and force them to accommodate evacuated people. The current state of emergency lasts until December 29th.
