The Park Snow Donovaly ski resort was visited by 60 percent fewer skiers during the Christmas holiday than last year, according to the centre's marketing manager Miroslav Dobrota. He expects this decrease to continue in the coming weeks as well, given the requirement for visitors to submit a negative test result for COVID-19. Although the first weeks after opening were good, on the day before Christmas and Christmas Day there was no skiing at all in Donovaly due to bad weather, with the resort reopening on December 25th to weak demand.
At the Jahodná ski resort the season is still very weak, its manager Ján Petróci has told the TASR press agency. "Traffic is very low, enough for a maximum of one lift. Apparently it's due to testing, and also to the fact that we don't have a big lift running. It's mostly parents with small children coming here. Last weekend, attendance was slightly higher. During working days, outside the holidays, it is much less," he said. As for the cross-country ski run, its treatment depends on the amount of natural snow and is therefore not yet available.
