President Ivan Gašparovič believes that there is no imminent danger of a military conflict between Russia and Ukraine. According to the head of the state, Slovakia is able to secure its territory in the current situation.
At a session of the Slovak Security Council on Wednesday the President stated that he sees no reason to consider the deployment of allied troops at Slovak military bases. Gašparovič repeated that Slovakia will help Ukraine in any way that won’t harm its own economy and citizens.
