The Government is appealing to people's responsibility in connection with the novel coronavirus pandemic. Describing the situation in Slovakia before the Christmas holidays as extremely serious, Health Minister Marek Krajči (OĽaNO) admitted that the lockdown, which will come into force in Slovakia as of Saturday (December 19), has a number of exemptions. However, according to Health Minister, a fully-fledged curfew would be very difficult to introduce in view of Christmas. "I call on people to follow the recommendation that no more than two households meet during the curfew and holidays, and that there is no further mingling of people," said the minister on Wednesday.
