Former Police Corps President Milan Lučanský, currently in detention is in a stable medical state and his injury was not wilfully caused by himself nor by anyone else, said his lawyer Matúš Beresecký on Sunday. Thus was his reaction to what he called media disinformation - that Lúčanský had been beaten or that he had tried to commit suicide.
According to Justice Minister Maria Kolíková, the Former Police Corps President lost his balance and fell awkwardly onto a metal bed in his cell. The ex-police chief told the guards who checked him that he had underestimated his eye injury and had even done a series of push-ups afterwards.
Lučanský was detained in early December as part of a police raid nicknamed 'Judas' for numerous accusations. They include corruption, setting up an organised criminal group and jeopardising classified information.
