Up to 70,000 Slovak households may receive subsidies from Brussels for privately owned power generation systems in the coming autumn. Slovakia has formally asked the European Commission for the right to draw money from EU funds for such support.
Subsidies could be thus allocated for small solar power plants, wind micro turbines as well as heat production in solar collectors, heat pumps and biomass boilers. “The implementation should be carried out thanks to the financial resources from EU funds in the amount of 100 million euro”, said spokesman for the Environment Ministry Maroš Stano.
