HC Košice has won the Slovak ice hockey league for the seventh time after defeating HK Nitra 6-0 on Monday. In the previous two seasons they had to settle for silver.
This year’s title, however, comes with a bonus attached: the participation in newly launched Champions League. The Slovak champion should get one of two free cards in this pan-European competition for the season 2014/2015.
