Slovak Foreign Affairs Minister Ivan Korčok (an SaS nominee) stated during an international donor video-conference on Lebanon on Wednesday, which took place under the auspices of French President Emmanuel Macron and UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, that Slovakia is ready to participate in providing necessary aid to Lebanon, which has long been suffering from both an economic and migrant crisis. "At the same time, we're aware of regional circumstances, while the COVID-19 pandemic has made Lebanon's record unemployment rate, inflation, exodus of qualified labour and unfavourable demographic developments even worse," stated Korčok. According to the Slovak minister, Lebanon should listen to the demands of its people and implement resolute economic and political reforms.
