Survey: Slovaks protect their data on internet insufficiently

Slovaks still do not protect their data on the internet sufficiently. According to a survey carried out by Go4insight agency on the occasion of International Computer Security Day. "Fewer than two thirds of internet users (64%) claim they have been using sufficiently safe passwords to access selected internet services and online platforms," stated the agency. Only 58% of internet users have been using unique passwords for various services and platforms. Some 48% of respondents have been using a two-step log-in, meaning passwords concurrently with a verification code via SMS or application. "The fact is that the youngest users behave on the internet in the most benevolent manner from the security viewpoint," stated the agency.

More than half of people using the internet are concerned that their personal data might be misused, with older respondents expressing more worries than young ones.

A total of 902 respondents aged 15-79 took part in the survey carried out at the turn of October of this year.
