First deputy prosecutor-general (PG) Viera Kovačiková told journalists on Tuesday that she'll resign from her post, and will quit as a prosecutor as well, at the end of November. She explained this decision by saying that she wishes to accept responsibility for coming to the office right after testing positive for coronavirus earlier this month. Kovačiková also said she won't wait until the new PG is elected before stepping down.
