The average monthly wage in the countries of the EU are more than 3 times higher than the wages in Slovakia, brings data of the Eurostat, analysed by the Poštová Bank. The average wage in Slovakia last year was around €835, while the EU average was more than €2,700.
This in other words means that an average Slovak must work three months in order to earn what the average EU citizen makes, says the analyses of the Poštová Bank. Falling behind Slovakia in this regards from among EU countries are Bulgaria, Romania, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Hungary.
