Former heads of Police and NAKA in custody

The former head of Slovak Police and numerous former top representatives of the National Criminal Agency (NAKA) detained as part of the police raid named Purgatory will be prosecuted in custody, a Specialised Criminal Court decided on Sunday. The decision is not yet valid and was appealed by the defendants, with the Supreme Court to have the final say in the matter.

They face charges of founding, masterminding and supporting an organised criminal group, corruption, misuse of a public official's powers and other charges. The list includes Former Police Corps president Tibor Gašpar, former NAKA's financial police unit deputy head Milan Mihálik, NAKA financial intelligence unit head Marián Zetocha former NAKA anti-corruption unit head Robert Krajmer, and Martin Fleischer, former Director of the Interior Ministry's Economic Department.

On the other hand, former director of the NAKA's financial unit, Bernard Slobodník was dismissed because he started cooperating with the authorities.
