A woman from Slovakia was among those injured in the shootings in Vienna on Monday, Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Ministry press office director Juraj Tomaga announced on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Slovak Police Corps spokesperson Denisa Bardyová has announced that terrorists in Vienna did not shoot with ammunition from Slovakia, as had been falsely reported on Tuesday by the Austrian daily Heute. "The Slovak police in the summer received information that suspicious persons from Austria tried to buy ammunition in Slovakia, however they failed to do so," said Bardyová, adding that they immediately sent this information to their Austrian colleagues.
Several people were killed while others sustained injuries in shootings at six locations in Vienna, including in an area close to a synagogue, on Monday evening. The Austrian authorities have confirmed that the shootings were acts of terrorism in which several perpetrators were involved. In order to express solidarity with Austria, the Presidential Palace in the centre of Bratislava was illuminated with Austria's national colours on Tuesday evening.
