Bratislava and Košice exempted from second round of mass-testing

The second round of mass-testing for coronavirus is set to take place in the upcoming weekend, but districts that had positivity rates below 0.7 percent in the first round will be exempted, Prime Minister Igor Matovič (OLaNO) announced after a meeting of the Central Crisis Commitee on Monday. Bratislava, Košice and 25 districts will be exempted. The list of exempted districts is available at somzodpovedny.sk. The second round will thus involve about 54 percent of the country's population.

The premier at the same time stated that medical personnel, as well as staff employed in care homes, will be tested for the virus twice a month and that the state will provide test kits to large businesses. Furthermore, testing will be carried out at the country's borders.
