The 0.1 percent annual drop in prices in March was in line with the expectations of Slovakia's central bank. At the same time, the bank indicates that it considers the likelihood of deflation at the end of this year to remain low, and it predicts that inflation will reach about 1 percent by that time.
"From the short-term perspective, external factors translating into the low regulated prices of energy and the prices of foodstuffs will be the main factors behind price developments”, concluded the bank.
