Winegrowers in this country have urged people to buy Slovak wines and not foreign ones, in order to help them in dealing with their economic situation stemming from corona related restrictions, wrote the Denník N daily. They claim that this represents the last chance for them to pay employees and preserve vineyards. The winegrowers also complain about the lack of help from the state, saying they have not yet managed to get over the consequences resulting from the first wave of the pandemic. "Slovak winemakers have cellars full of last year's wine and they have nowhere to store the new wines after the autumn harvest," adds the Guild of Slovak Winemakers and Winegrowers.
