New orders in Slovak industry reached €4.179 billion in August 2020, up by 1.1% year-on-year, the Statistics Office reported on Thursday. The increase was recorded in spite of restrictive measures, which were adopted with the aim of stopping the spread of COVID-19. However, on a month-on-month scale, and with seasonal influences factored in, new industrial orders decreased by 1.8% in August.
