The introduction of electronic voting from abroad in elections is not realistic, as security risks outweigh the benefits, thinks Peter, director of the Slovak Institute for Security Policy. Currently it is possible to vote from abroad by post in the general elections. The government of Igor Matovič (OĽaNO) has included the introduction of electronic voting from abroad in its manifesto. According to Peter Köles, the most serious risk is the possibility of interfering in the course of the elections, and thus the possibility of influencing their outcome. According to Ján Suchal from the civic association Slovensko.Digital, Estonia is the only country that uses electronic elections at the national level. "However, this solution is not generally viewed among the academic or security community as safe," he explained in an interview with TASR agency. According to Suchal, introducing electronic elections, which would ensure secrecy, anonymity and the possibility of casting only one vote, is still a seen as a big challenge.
