Regional public health offices are to be reinforced with 267 soldiers who will assist with tasks arising from the state of emergency, the Government decided at its extraordinary session held on Friday. As of the upcoming weekend (October 10-11), soldiers will be despatched mainly to the Orava area in northern Slovakia. The Slovak Armed Forces will help to deal with tasks arising from the state of emergency declared in relation to the coronavirus outbreak, with the Government greenlighting the allocation of up to 1,500 troops daily for this. The soldiers will be assigned tasks in accordance with requests by Health Minister Marek Krajci (OLaNO). They will provide assistance at regional public health offices and extend organisational support to selected medical facilities until December 31, 2020.
