The Slovak Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Miroslav Lajčák held talks in Kiev with his Ukrainian counterpart Andrij Descyca. Lajčák confirmed that Slovakia supports Ukraine’s European orientation and welcomes the signing of the Association Agreement between the EU and Ukraine, informed the press department of the Foreign Ministry.
“I believe this is the beginning of a new stage of strengthening integration ties between Ukraine and the EU,” he said. Lajčák also confirmed that Slovakia rejects any outside interference in the internal affairs of Ukraine, supports its independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders. He added that it is necessary that Ukraine and Russia find a way out of the political crisis that is acceptable to the international community.
