The biodiversity crisis also poses a crisis for humankind, President Zuzana Čaputová stated in her address to the UN global summit on biodiversity, held in New York, on Wednesday. Slovak President joined the summit via videoconference. In her address, Čaputová charted measures that Slovakia is beginning to embrace in order to protect the environment. Slovakia supports the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030, with the President embracing the Leaders' Commitment to Nature initiative, aimed at reversing the loss of biodiversity by 2030. "Such goals might seem too ambitious, but all the more important. Let us replace ignorance and egotism with responsibility and genuine willingness. And let's do it now," she added.
