The draft of the Slovak National Action Plan for advancing the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security - meant to prevent the violation of women's rights with regard to the prevention of sexual violence in armed conflict - was approved by the Slovak government at its meeting on Wednesday. The main pillar of Resolution 1325 is to increase women's participation in decision-making processes regarding conflict prevention. It also promotes the active involvement of women in conflict management, and emphasizes the protection of women and girls from violence.
The National Action Plan is the result of cooperation between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Labor, Defense and the Interior.
