Slovakia joins the rising tide of calls within the international community for an immediate end to all military operations in Nagorno Karabakh, chief of Slovak diplomacy Ivan Korčok declared on Monday. "I urge both sides of the conflict to return unconditionally to the negotiating table and strive to seek a peaceful resolution under the aegis of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs," said Korčok. The EU on Monday called on regional powers not to interfere in the fighting in Nagorno Karabakh, which is the source of the dispute between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and condemned the "serious escalation" of tensions that undermines regional stability. Both China and Russia urged the warring parties to exercise restraint, whereas NATO called for an "immediate" end to the violence.
