Ukrainian president Zelenskyi visiting Slovakia

Slovakia supports the integration process of Ukraine into the European Union, stated the Slovak President Zuzana Čaputová after her meeting with the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi in Bratislava on Thursday morning. Zuzana Čaputová is pleased that their meeting has seen concrete results in the form of the signature of two agreements on cooperation. Relations between the Slovak Republic and Ukraine have been assessed by both presidents as good and constructive in the long run. The two Heads of State also discussed economic issues, the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and the situation in Belarus. According to Zelenskyi, Ukraine, like Slovakia, disapproves of the Nordstream 2 gas pipeline. Both presidents also condemned the violence in Belarus and neither of them considers Alexander Lukashenko to be a legitimate president. During his Thursday visit to Slovakia, Ukrainian president also met the Slovak Prime Minister Igor Matovič and Parliament´s Chair Boris Kollár.
