Martin Fiala, a Slovak soldier who is currently deployed on an ISAF operation in Afghanistan earned the title hero of the day. During a move of a military convoy through the periphery of Kandahar one of the cars that Fiala was in was targeted and shot at numerous times. One of the bullets hit the helmet of the Slovak soldier.
He himself did not get injured and moreover kept a calm head and did not react impulsively and start shooting back, as there were many civilians around. The Slovak news television TA3 brought this story adding that luckily the incident did not claim any lives.
