The tempo of growth of Slovakia's economy is forecast to accelerate markedly in 2014, according to the latest World Economic Outlook released by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Based on this forecast published on Tuesday this week, Slovakia’s GDP is likely to grow by 2.3 percent in 2014 - up by 0.9 percent, with the figure predicted to rise to 3 percent in the following year. Conversely, the growth of consumer prices will decelerate from 1.5 percent in 2013 to 0.7 percent in 2014. The IMF has estimated that in 2015 inflation will jump back to 1.6 percent. In addition, the uplift in the economy should translate into slight reductions in the unemployment rate.
