While 70 percent of Slovaks do not trust political parties and 76 percent do not trust the judiciary, the armed forces and President Zuzana Čaputová enjoy a relatively high level of confidence. This finding stems from a survey conducted by the non-governmental organisation GLOBSEC in co-operation with Focus agency in March 2020. The survey found that 72 percent of the respondents trust the armed forces, and 58 percent trust the president. "Trust in public institutions is extremely important in these times," said the analyst at GLOBSEC Dominika Hajdu, pointing to the results that show that the level of trust and distrust in public institutions in Slovakia varies considerably. The March survey also showed that, according to 85 percent of the people polled, oligarchs and financial groups have a strong control over the Slovak government.
