Slovak Finance Minister Peter Kažimír says Europe should not allow tax havens on its territory. ”We should agree in Europe that the entities operating in countries from the future blacklist of tax haven jurisdictions would be penalized, for example, by being excluded from European public procurement. Tax evasion and tax fraud are a major obstacle to achieving efficient and socially equitable fiscal consolidation. A state treasury cannot be consolidated when it’s leaky”, said Kažimír. The estimated volume of tax evasion within the European Union is a thousand billion euro.
