On Wednesday, Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Minister Ivan Korčok condemned the poisoning of Russian opposition lawmaker Alexey Navalny. "I strongly condemn the use of Novichok against Alexey Navalny. A transparent and full investigation by the Russian authorities is urgently required," wrote the minister on Twitter. German military laboratory that carried out a toxicological screening of samples taken from Navalny has discovered "undeniable proof" that the Russian was poisoned with a Novichok agent, reported German Government spokesman Steffen Seibert.
Navalny, a politician and corruption investigator who is one of Russian President Vladimir Putin's fiercest critics, is currently being treated in a hospital in Berlin, where he was transported from Russia. He fell ill on a flight to Moscow from Siberia and was taken to a hospital in the Siberian city of Omsk after the plane made an emergency landing, wrote Euractiv.
