Slovakia is watching the situation in Ukraine very closely as the current developments in the cities of Donetsk, Lugansk and Kharkov can potentially trigger a serious security crisis, according to the Slovak Foreign and European Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajčak.
Pro-Russian demonstrators stormed a regional government building in Donetsk and declared their region independent from Kiev. "We're urging all those concerned to act responsibly and show utmost restraint, as experience has shown that it's much easier to provoke a crisis than to fight its repercussions”, he said.
