According to the Slovak head of diplomacy, the situation in Belarus is becoming a breeding ground for disinformation and manipulation of the public's opinion on the motive, course and possible consequences of the ongoing protests in the country. On Wednesday, the Slovak Foreign Affairs Minister Ivan Korčok pointed to five major disinformation topics. Later in the day, at the Globsec 2020 summit, Korčok called any rigging of the popular vote in Belarus beyond the pale. He pointed out that the only demand raised by protesters is what should be the basis in any democracy and stressed the need to kickstart a dialogue between the regime and its citizens as well as political representatives. Korčok also declared his readiness to actively participate in the process.
