Anti-corruption line busier this year than in 2019

The Government Office has registered 51 calls to the anti-corruption line and also received 160 written filings for suspected corruption in 2020 by mid-August. Looking at the data published on the Office's website, these figures represent an increase compared to the whole of 2019 after less than 8 months. Last year, according to the data on the website, the Government Office received 35 calls to the anti-corruption line and 130 filings; in 2018 there were 50 calls and 145 filings; 96 calls and 286 filings in 2017; and 41 calls and 37 written filings in 2016. The office processes registered filings according to their content. Matters which do not fall within its competence are referred to the relevant state body or public administration body. These are, for example, ministries, the Police Corps, the Inspection Service Office, the Prosecutor-General's Office, or labour inspectorates or self-government bodies.
