In 2019, 66 victims of human trafficking were identified in Slovakia, namely 31 women and 35 men. This according to the Evaluation Report on Crime Prevention Strategy in the Slovak Republic for 2016-2020 for the year 2019, which the Cabinet approved on Wednesday. Among the identified victims of human trafficking, according to the document, ten were under the age of 18. "Out of 66 victims of human trafficking, 52 were formally identified by the police and 17 of them joined the Program for Support and Protection of Victims of Human Trafficking, which provides assistance to victims such as isolation from the criminal environment, accommodation, assisted return to Slovakia, legal, psychological and social counselling, and health care," states the Interior Ministry, which drafted the report.
