80 years since the formation of the Czechoslovak Bomber Squadron within RAF

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the formation of the No. 311 (Czechoslovak) Bomber Squadron RAF, the Defence Attaché of the Slovak Republic in London, Col. Ján Goceliak, laid a wreath at Royal Air Force Honington. In Honington the single Czechoslovak-manned bomber squadron was established during World War II, and it is also the final resting place for several Czechoslovak soldiers. The Wednesday ceremony in Honington also recalled the heroism and the hundreds of fallen pilots and air personnel of the 311 Squadron and other Czechoslovak units of the Royal Air Force during the Battle of Britain and the following years of the war.
