Jan A. Holý, a prominent representative of Slovaks living in the USA and former general secretary of the Slovak League of America, has died at the age of 98 in New Jersey, the World Association of Slovaks Living Abroad (SZSZ) reported on Tuesday on its Facebook account.
Holy died on July 24 at his home with his family by his side. The funeral will take place on August 1 at the Church of St. John Nepomucene in New York. Holy occupied the post of general secretary of the Slovak League of America in 1975-2002. He also played a part in setting up SZSZ, of which he was a vice-chair in 2006-16.
