Less bureaucracy in schools?

The Education Ministry has identified 140 bureaucratic acts pertaining to schools, some of which it assessed as unnecessary. It plans to reassess and streamline the remaining ones. These are mainly various duplicate obligations, procurement procedures, and keeping files and records.

Minister Branislav Grohling (SaS) said they also want to promote more digitization in administering and archiving this data. In this context, the ministry is preparing a package of measures that should eliminate bureaucracy in schools and facilitate their functioning.

"We want the main task of teachers to be to pass on knowledge and the task of headmasters to be to take care of the school in the first place. We want to minimize the administrative burdens in their work, so that they may devote their time preferentially to the education of their students and the development of the school," Grohling explained. The package of measures to remove bureaucratic obstacles should enter into force in September 2021 at the latest.
