The Confederation of Trade Union Associations (KOZ) is planning to set up the office of a ‘trade-union ombudsman’. “The pilot project will be launched as of September ... and as of January 2015, the project is projected to be launched in full. Its head will also have been known by that time,” said KOZ spokesperson Martina Nemethova.
The task of the trade-union ombudsman will be providing consultancy for member trade union associations in dealing with their problems with state and public bodies and the private sector. “The goal [of the office] has been providing broader assistance to trade unionists in their everyday lives and broadening the platform of trade union solidarity,” said Nemethova.
