Milan Jan Pilip has become the new chairman of the Office for Slovaks Living Abroad, with the Cabinet approving his nomination for the post at its session on Wednesday. The Office in cooperation with the Foreign Affairs Ministry, supervises the conduct of state policy in relation to Slovaks living abroad and state support for compatriots. Milan Jan Pilip in the past worked in commissions within the Ethnic Minority Culture subsidy scheme. Since 2014 he has been serving on the parliamentary ethnic minorities committee, occupying the post of its vice-chair as of 2019. He also occupied the post of chair of the Roundtable of Rusyns of Slovakia in 2016-17.
