On Wednesday, the Slovak Foreign Minister Ivan Korčok received the British Ambassador Andy Garth, whose mission to Slovakia is ending after almost 6 years. For his personal contribution to a broad development of bilateral relations between Slovakia and the UK, Minister Korčok awarded the British Ambassador a commemorative plaque. In their follow-up talk, the diplomats focused mainly on the issue of travel measures for the two countries, which in the recent days has mainly concerned the decision by British epidemiologists not to include the Slovak Republic among the countries upon the arrival from which it is not necessary to go into a two-week quarantine in the United Kingdom. "I am sincerely pleased that the epidemiological situation is slowly improving in the United Kingdom as well. This was also reflected in the Slovak Council of Experts in their decision to include the United Kingdom on the list of less risky countries. We are all the more surprised in Slovakia that the Slovak Republic has not been included on the list of safe countries," stated Minister Korčok noting that objective epidemiological criteria must be taken into account when adopting such decisions.
