Checks at Slovak border crossings

Checks at Slovak border crossings

From Friday, July 10th at 3pm until Saturday, July 11th at 3pm checks will be in place at all of Slovakia's border crossing points or close to them in order to monitor if travellers entering the country respect the Public Health Office's rules. Those who have visited countries considered risky by Slovak epidemiologists in the past 14 days have to enter quarantine and contact the Regional Public Health Offices (RUVZ) to be tested. A risky country is any which is NOT on this list:

The Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, France, Italy, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Hungary, Austria, Poland, Germany, Croatia, Czech Republic, Cyprus, China, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Greece, Iceland, Lichtenstein, Malta, Monaco, Norway, Slovenia, Switzerland.

Prime Minister Igor Matovic (OLaNO) informed at a press conference on Thursday that the Government would discuss an amendment at a special session on Monday (July 13) that will allow sending to people coming from a 'red', dangerous country an SMS message, containing a notice of the obligation to contact the Public Health Office. Disobedience should be punished with a high fine. The amendment will be submitted to Parliament in fast-tracked proceedings. The premier pointed to the latest 53 people tested positive that this "isn't a positive number".
