People coming to Slovakia from countries that have not been placed on the coronavirus safe list will need to remain self-isolated until they are able to show a negative RT-PCR test for COVID-19, according to a ruling by Slovakia's Public Health Authority due to enter into force as of July 6. Bulgaria and Montenegro have been removed from the safe list, which has been expanded to include the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, France, Italy, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea and China. The list of the less risky countries issued by the Foreign Affairs Ministry can be found here.
Minors under the age of three will not be subject to mandatory coronavirus tests, unless the regional health authority or a paediatrician decide otherwise. Meanwhile, citizens of third countries on their way to a different EU-member country, in which they have permanent or temporary residence, will not have to present a negative coronavirus test in Slovakia. Nevertheless, they have to pass Slovakia without any stop within eight hours, including refuelling.
Also exempt from mandatory self-isolation will be people with permanent or temporary residence in Ukraine and one accompanying person, coming to Slovakia to care for relatives, who cannot care for themselves.
