Two pensioners stole a wagon from a fenced property at an allotment in Štúrovo (Nitra region) by taking a locked entrance gate off its hinges and using their own horse to haul the wagon away, TASR learnt on Monday.
After removing the wagon, the pensioners put the gate back in place and took the horse and wagon home. The theft was reported by the 56-year-old owner from Kamenica nad Hronom. “The police launched an investigation into the case and discovered that the wagon was stolen by two pensioners from Štúrovo. The men caused the owner damages of €200”, said Nitra regional police spokesperson Božena Bruchterova. The perpetrators, identified only as Stefan, 70, and Rudolf, 65, face charges of theft and a potential two-year prison sentence if found guilty.
