Department for hybrid threats and disinformation set up

The National Security Bureau (NBU) has set up as of July 1 a department for hybrid threats and disinformation. After the Foreign and European Affairs Ministry, the NBU is the second state body to pursue the EU's goal to systematically monitor, review, analyse and react to information operations aimed at the spread of possibly harmful information, said NBU spokesman Peter Habara. According to him, the most frequent manifestation of disinformation in Slovakia concerns attempts to shape public opinion in cyber space and the media.
