Parliamentary Chairman Boris Kollár (We Are Family), who has been accused of having plagiarised his diploma thesis and is now being forced to resign by many politicians said at a press conference on Friday that he had obtained his degree lawfully and so he has no reason to apologise. Nevertheless, he announced that he would stop using his master's degree in politics, in order to remove pretexts for attacks against the governing coalition. According to information published by the media, Kollar copied and pasted into his thesis several pages from a publication written by his own supervisor.
Earlier in the week, Prime Minister Igor Matovič announced he would not call on Kollár to resign over the plagiarism.
