Ban on Sunday sales lifted, regular disinfecting has to continue

Chief hygienist Ján Mikas stated on Friday that the obligation for retail shops to reserve Sundays exclusively for sanitation and disinfection processes will be scrapped as of Saturday, 20 June, meaning that the ban on Sunday sales is being lifted. At the same time, Mikas announced that taxi drivers will no longer be obliged to place customers on back seats, as this measure is turning into a recommendation.

According to the hygienist, all food shops, mass caterers, including fast food stands and similar establishments, will be obliged to put an emphasis on regular and effective cleaning and disinfecting, which has to be carried out daily and in line with the implemented principles of good hygiene practices defined by the European Parliament's and European Council's regulation on food hygiene.
